================================== The Nosferatu Conspiracy: The Sleepwalker Title: The Nosferatu Conspiracy: The Sleepwalker

Pacific Book Review - Starred Review

One of the most difficult things for a person to face is the truth. Whether it is a personal truth or one that affects the history of the world, the truth can often set us free, or upend everything we thought we knew. As the late John F. Kennedy once said, “The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie, deliberate, contrived and dishonest, but the myth, persistent, persuasive and unrealistic.”

In author Brian James Gage’s book, The Nosferatu Conspiracy: The Sleepwalker, the mystery of the historical deaths of Tsar Nicholas II and his family in 1918 is turned upside down as the true power of the man history would remember as Rasputin comes to light. In this historical fiction/mystery novel, the author explores the seemingly “unkillable” Rasputin as he orchestrates the destruction of St. Petersburg in 1916 using some powerful supernatural means.

A one of a kind novel to be sure, the author has created a fantastic new take on the legend of Gregori Rasputin and his history with Tsar Nicholas II and his family. From Rasputin “healing” the Tsar’s sick son to infiltrating the royal family and the political corruption behind closed doors against the royal family all come to a head in the midst of supernatural forces converging on St. Petersburg and beyond.

This is a fantastic book for anyone who enjoys history, historical fiction, tales of the supernatural and mysteries. As a fan of the genre, it was great to see an author take an iconic piece of history that is often overlooked in the grand scheme of historical context and utilize it for an original vampiric tale like no other. Getting to see the legend of Rasputin grow as he integrates into the royal family and seeing the mythology of the vampiric nature of his legend become a massive conspiracy in the era made this a truly engaging read.

A must read for any supernatural and historical fiction fans, author Brian James Gage’s book The Nosferatu Conspiracy: The Sleepwalker is the perfect amount of suspense, thriller and history all rolled into one. A great way of putting a twist on an iconic moment in 20th century history, the author has created a new supernatural historical series that is filled with memorable characters, promising new stories in future novels and a setting rich with historical context readers will not be able to get enough of. If you haven’t yet, make sure to grab your copy today.
